Spirometry (Lung function testing)
This can play a crucial part of an assessment to make or exclude a diagnosis of asthma, COPD or other respiratory conditions, it is also an important screening tool used to assess lung health in smokers in particular.
This test measures the amount of air you can breathe out from your lungs and how fast you can blow it out. You will be asked to blow into a tube attached to a machine called a spirometer.
This test takes approximately 30 minutes to do.
